Bussty, yes, really annoying. If it would just do one thing consistently it might be possible to find a solution, but this erratic behavior makes that really hard. Maybe the only solution is to go with a non-DJI drone that does not require unlocking.

I was flying my Mini yesterday and I got a propeller warning that basically said land immediately and check that the propellers are properly OK. If not hover for 5 minutes to see if they straighten out and/or replace them. I inspected them and they looked OK to my amateur eye to I flew them...

I have a similar but different problem. On my Mini, I can get the unlock screen and answer the three questions. I get the message that it is unlocked, but when I close the screen it is still locked. I was only able to fly by going to “fly safe” on the web site and getting an unlocking license.

I just did that today with my wife’s old iPhone. Her’s has a bigger screen as well and it saves wear and tear on my case.

Thanks all. Looks like I need to try it out for a while. I like Cadbob’s idea of using another phone as a hotspot if necessary.

My wife is getting a new phone and I am going to take her old iPhone 7 and dedicate it to drone use instead of using my regular iPhone. What do I miss out on if I don’t pay for a new cell line in order to have cellular data in the field?
