Vasquez Rocks is an LA County Park. I know of no problems with them. I drove by them yesterday (twice) but was worn out after a fairly quick turnaround at Red Rock Canyon State Park. While tempted, getting back to Orange County pulled me harder.
I had the bottom equivalent pop off after a stupid takeoff attempt from a platform that was not _quite_ large enough. Ground effect caused a tumble. Well, really pilot error caused it, but I'm sticking to the physics. I did not know it was missing until I went out again to fly from the same...
The airspace lines cut the park in half diagonally. I will likely head there this weekend to see what the "lay of the air" is. I would love to fly there since it's close and can't really fly where I live given adjacent military facilities. If I get there, I'll let the assembled here know the result.
