Even for commercial work I think it helps that the Mavic draws a little less attention than other drones. It's a bit smaller, quieter, and a non-descript shape and color. It's quick and easy to unpack, unfold, preflight, and go so you get the job done sooner and your flight is more discreet...

Your conclusion is correct in general, but know that Part 107 specifically addresses your point (2) with some amount of common sense and the scenario of "... pass behind large shrub for a fraction of a second..." is allowed.

Yeah. Commercial (and Remote!) pilot here... The problem is DJI's GEO software doesn't really know about airspace. It puts up warnings based on fixed distance from airports, not on whether you're really in Class G vs, say, a Class E Surface Area or D, etc. you should be able to "authorize"...

AOPA is a great organization. I've been a member since the 80s. They've really delivered as an advocacy group for general aviation and they are very sincere in supporting and lobbying for the ranks of UAV pilots now, too.
