    Should I get a 4K monitor ???

If you use multiple computers, and get one 5k (or 4k), all the others will then look like crap.

    Mavic & Solar Eclipse

Here is my video of the Eclipse shadow, somehow the Mavic got set to 1080p without me realizing it. :-(

    Mavic & Solar Eclipse

This is incorrect. The Sun during the eclipse is not any brighter than on any other day, some people seem to think that the eclipse makes it brighter somehow. It won't hurt the camera any more during the eclipse than other times of the year. As others have pointed out, using the Mavic to record...

Fast Moving Object Caught By Mavic Pro

    Can you post it?

Fast Moving Object Caught By Mavic Pro

It's a bug. A tiny, little, slow moving bug. At 12mph you will cover 17 feet per second. That little bug came into view just a few feet in front of the Mavic. For the very short amount of time that the little bug was in view, you are not going to be able to see its typical erratic flight path -...

Fast Moving Object Caught By Mavic Pro

Fast? Maybe it is fast in terms of covering the field of view, but it does not look like it was flying fast to me. Almost certainly it was just a bug, and not necessarily a big one. The Mavic was in forward flight and the bug was flying towards and across the path of the Mavic. It was only a few...

Do you unfold your props everytime before starting motors?

Why? Because it is not necessary - there is no tangible benefit for me. The keyword here is "insignificant". To say it is "plain lazyness" in insulting. There are countless unnecessary things that people don't bother doing. It is not because they are lazy, it because those things don't need to...

Do you unfold your props everytime before starting motors?

It is not at all like starting a heli with the blades not fully unfolded, the Mavic shakes a little for only a fraction of a second. An unbalanced heli can shake violently for several seconds while spinning up, with the possibility of bending the main shaft or other problems. While I agree...

Do you unfold your props everytime before starting motors?

Respectfully, I disagree. I very much doubt that the tiny radial forces that exist for a fraction of a second during spin-up contribute at all to premature bearing wear.

Do you unfold your props everytime before starting motors?

Serious? Yes. The pre-spin is observable. Two short bursts to the motors, then they spin up to normal flying speed. Since the motors are controlled by software, well that's why I said that the software accounts for that. There is also the supposition that the pre-spin is intended to test for...

Do you unfold your props everytime before starting motors?

I usually don't unfold. I see no good reason to. I also use auto take-off most of the time. I inspect the blades when folding them after a flight. The software accounts for blades being folded. If you'll notice, when taking off the motors do a pre-spin before applying power for take off.

Whats the point of buying a drone?

Who says you can't fly in (over) any of the oceans?

Urgent help needed on filming maxi 72 sailing boat race

Zig zagging will not help make way into a headwind with an aircraft. Sailboats zig zag (tack) because they have no choice. A sailboat cannot sail directly into the wind, they have to sail at an angle to the wind while using the keel to act against the water in order to make headway. There is...

Yet another bad news story for our hobby

Which does more damage? A pound of lead hitting your skull at 30mph or a pound of feathers?

    Order & Receive Thread

Cancelled my BH order because I would be out of the country when it shipped. Then the dji order that was not supposed to ship until July 4 is already enroute for a delivery this Wednesday. First it takes too long, then it is too soon. #firstworldproblems
