I would suggest to trigger the RTH to let the mavic to drive home by himself, take your car or walk towards the return path to try to reach half way back. Then you stop in a safe place, assume mavic control and land it manually.

I'm using Litchi for a couple of days and like it. Did some really nice panoramas using it. As I use an Android tablet, Autopilot is not available for me to try afaik.
