Point Ireland probably has similar, if not same, rules. AirNav in lieu in my posts above.

Drone Delays DHART Helicopter Taking Off With Seriously Injured Woman

This is the sort of thread topic / article that should be read by those on the Canadian wildfire type thread, where they feel it isn't really doing harm to fly in emergency airspace.

Do you have strobes ? Can easily allow you to extend VLOS to a 'reasonable' distance, though the UK generally has that 500m VLOS guideline still, does it ?

Surely on that basis, the UK CAA should give you a reason for wanting the logs ? If they can just request them due to some probable frivolous report they received, and a little digging on YouTube, then they have more powers than the police ! If the airspace was ok to fly, then it's normally up...

Yes, a chap in New Zealand, quite a while ago. https://mavicpilots.com/threads/caa-requesting-flight-log-details.78160/ That OP of that thread had a very long hiatus from the forum after that post, never did update it from memory. He's been back in more recent times I have noticed, so might...

    AliExpress Warning

Sorry to hear of your plight, it sucks terribly having this happen to anyone. If you really mean an Air, that’s a big warning too, heck I thought they were well and truly obsolete many moons ago just as the Air2 / Air2s came out. Then again it might have been 2nd hand (???), as you said Mavic...

Basic with fly more or Pro with no xtras?

Good choice for a new pilot, you'll also have obstacle avoidance with the pro too (not on the basic), which, apart from thin branches with no foliage and things like wires, it could save you one day.

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

This includes their own lives. A drone pilot would probably take on an extremely high risk to fly their drone near a true bushfire / wildfire, needing to likely be within a matter of a mile or two, or on an adjacent ridge line etc to be able to maintain control their drone. I wonder how many...

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

Specifically for bushfires and other emergency situations, our rules . . . Flying near emergencies You must not fly your drone during emergency operations. Flying your drone near emergencies can cause major safety hazards to response teams in the air and on the ground. Using your drone to...

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

That's possibly ok in the US, as it is in Australia. The rule here for any uncontrolled airport or heliport is 'land if you become aware of any aircraft operating in your airspace' or to that effect. This includes hospital helipads. Uncontrolled airports here you can even fly right by them ...

    Random Question: Tattoos!

And let's not discount tattoo artists that have no dictionary on standby, we've all probably seen the tattoo "No Regerts". Should have no problems with a graphic though 😁

Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

A few years ago near home we were within a couple of km of a really unusually close bushfire coming up the western hills face in bush terrain, fanned by a good strong breeze. This is the first fire like this I've seen so near in the nearly 40 years living here. We were looking across a large...
