Can I Use Regular Propellers with Silent Propellers on My DJI Mavic Mini?

I think it would be like mixing crossply and radial tyres on the same axial. Let’s face it, you would think twice about flying your bird with a small Nick in a propellor, the lift characteristics of difference props is bound to throw the balance out.

Do I need a part 107 if I'm volunteering to shoot drone video to promote a California State Park?

That seems like a slippery slope to me and you might get away with this argument, but the Part 107 is a better route and learning how to fly your drone better and I enjoyed studying for the examination and you are taking employment away from pilots who have paid the money, taken the time are are...

    Mini 3 The Green Mile

Oh phew! When I read the title my imagination went straight to the film of the same name and I thought your mini 3 had gone to the ‘undiscovered country’ and you had a fly away. In fact ‘My drone made the green mile’ isn’t a bad euphemism for a fly away.

Drones on Cruise Ships - What you need to know

Yes, there is a very small risk of a lipo battery catching fire, so they could ask for the drone batteries to be stored in a fire-proof bag and the batteries to be placed in one of these bag when charging. I would rather be on a ship with a lipo battery fire than in an aircraft under similar...

Drones on Cruise Ships - What you need to know

I can certainly see that drones should be banned from being flown over a ship, whether it is cruising along or in port for all the reasons you mentioned but there is no reason to ban them from being transported. I don’t mind handing over my drone as I embark as long as I get it back when I...

Bring Mavic on a Princess Cruise?ko

I would reach out to the company asking for an exemption, if you have Part 107, perhaps even send an image of it, stating that you are an experienced and responsible pilot. As for flying your drone in different countries, I find the research a bit of fun, there are places that ban drones(as...

    Newbie sorry if already asked.

Landing with a good percentage of battery capacity is what you are meant to do. It appears too many people fly and assume that the battery reading is gospel and it does appear from various videos I have seen that batteries do not discharge at the same rate, but quicker as the battery empties.

Time to get back at it

I think you will find a number of ‘getting started’ training videos on YouTube. Simple forward back, fly in a square etc. practice flying towards yourself and moving left and right.

    Newbie sorry if already asked.

There is a great video on YouTube about a drone pilot who was flying over islands in thailand and while the outward journey was ok and he had plenty of battery when he turned it back, he ran into trouble with headwinds and he only just managed to reach a remote island half way home. He then had...

    DRONE OPERATOR ID in EU

Wouldn’t it be nice is there was an international licence, so we wouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops. It’s not impossible, vehicle driving are accepted and I remember that there was an international driving licence that was easily obtained. This and other questions, we try to address...

HOA demands that I stop flying drones in the neighborhood. Need advice

I am starting to think that we need to purchase a db measuring device to show that the noise isn’t an issue. I would contact the HOA and ask them if they could be more specific about how it is a ‘nuisance’, maybe even offer an olive branch and say that you will not be flying the FPV. If it is a...
