Regulations are indeed posted, but enforcing them costs the city money, and some one has to call attention to violations before enforcement efforts might even start. Two reasons you might fly uninterrupted. And a drone is certainly not a model airplane.

I think your chances of finding chaos are very high. Taking a very complex machine into a new environment without hours of practice is very high risk. Were I a betting man, I would wager that you will come home from your trip without the drone.
Besides work, it looks like rainy days can also keep you grounded. I looked up the fair city, and there were comments that it is Canada's wettest city, or putting a positive spin on it, Canada's Rainbow City! And what an "interesting" history!
