Colorado fire officials urging people to stop flying drones near wildfires
This is exactly why we see more and more regulations and our hobby/businesses are increasingly frowned upon by the public. This is reckless and stupid and I hope these people are caught and fined.
I just went to skyvector.com, selected my Cincinnati TAC and did the "add to home screen" option on my iPhone. I'm sure android can do the same thing.
Kittyhawk.io has a subscription option that includes airspace maps but I just do it manually.
I use the kittyhawk.io app to log each flight. I document the purpose of the flight, any maps I checked, confirm I checked the weather (visibility, ceiling, etc), my verifly policy number and name/s of any vo's or assistants.
Probably overkill though.
Good to know, thanks. Although I'd almost rather operate under 107 even recreationally because there are three airports close to my home (small airstrip and two helipads). With 107 this is all class G airspace and I don't need to notify anyone.

I was thinking that the OP should have the serial number from registering with the FAA, but realized after reading more he's in AUS. This post motivates me to contact State Farm immediately though!
