Yes it charges without the vehicle running. Haven't really noticed yet if one battery last longer than the other. Will be part of the experiment!

Nothing scientific here but, the ultimaxx car charger charges my batteries in 45min vs 1hr15min w/ supplied charger. Does the slower charge preserve the batteries life?

The problem with keeping the cover on is that there is a cooling fan behind it and your mp might not last too long getting hot over and over. I've seen it happen to my friends, his battery would overheat and his flights were 1/2 as long as mine with the cover off. But I guess as long as the...
