What a which hunt. We have little chance of any newly developed laws being done so without bias with this sort of sensationalist reporting going on. As far as I am aware drones in Australia have not seriously injured or killed anyone, yet there have been several reports of them being used to...
End of the day, I think you are right Peter. Hobbyist droners in particular don't have a strong united front and we are getting shut out as a result. Until we have properly formed and funded associations lobbying effectively for our interests I don't see this changing.
Unfortunately Australia...
Just to demonstrate what a properly formed and funded group can lobby for;
Parks Victoria - Hunting
Department for Environment and Water
Recreational drones are 100% banned from parks in Vic & SA, but hunting with firearms is allowed in some areas at certain times of year. Can't tell me...
Ha, very much on topic for me atm. I actually don't disagree with this so long as CASA is the only regulatory body we have to deal with. If it were to mean rules being laid down by local councils were null, then I'm 100% for it. No idea how they would enforce some of these though and point 5 is...
Thanks, so basically a no mans land until someone sees fit to challenge any issued fine. I was thinking along the same lines as this for councils, however was unsure if the same applied to National Parks and the like. Don't get me wrong, I 100% agree with restrictions around populated (12...
I think the CASA rules are very reasonable and should align with the natural instinct in most of us. I use their app regularly .I'm quite concerned about what local councils are starting to do though, especially in SA. I would love for someone to challenge these in court as it seems all the...
Not sure what is going on, but prior to upgrading my firmware I was given this message stating the changes mentioned above and that if I did not like it I could downgrade my firmware. So, with the knowledge that I could revert to 1.03.0600 should I not like the new restrictions on the newer...
Makes sense. Looks like I was on Mavic firmware version 1.03.0600, which also looks like it was the last firmware before requiring a login to DJI or have the flight height and radius limited to 30m and 50m respectively. Does this literally mean that regardless of what flight app I am using (e.g...
Hi All,
Have had my Mavic for around 8 months in which time it has worked pretty much flawlessly. Last night however a few things went weird;
1. When I first turned on my Mavic I thought I'd give Litchi a go to see how it compared as I basically haven't used it as my default flight app since I...
I think recreational drone users are faced with a few challenges;
There are a lot of nobs out there who fly without regard of common sense let alone rules already in place in the area they might be flying.
Click bait media (such as in this article) pander to the lowest common denominator of...
Yes and no. If you are only taking photos and this is the only set of polarising lens you have, then I would be leaving them on in order to get the polariser benefit. Having said that I would only be using the ND4 PL, nothing more as you are typically wanting to get a higher frame rate with...
Until this weekend I would have said I never use the photos/video stored on the DJI app. I was away over the weekend and had packed light. Too light as it turns out as the one SD card I had failed completely. If it wasn't for the DJI app I would have lost some really epic footage along the coast...
Took this a footage a few month ago when my PolarPro Vivid series ND filters finally arrived. These are polarising lenses which I have used a lot in photography, however not so much with video as yet. Lots of yaw in these shots as I was wanting to see how noticeable the varying level of...
