I am both a drone pilot and kiteboarder. This was very bad and dangerous drone flying on your part. The length of the kite lines and the extensions are immaterial. Kiters like to jump and jump high. You should either stay over shore or keep your drone much higher when flying over kites IMHO.

I thought the motherboard would fry out first but then I read that it is treated with some kind of sealant, but I agree, you would think that the camera and/or gimbal would be toast after an hour in salt water. I am truly amazed.

@MavicWorld is spot on. also remember to set you first waypoint very close to your take off point. this way you can establish altitude right away and before you head to second waypoint or landing.

Ummh I am pretty sure you will be able to choose dynamic home point. I will defiantly use it (on occasion) like when I fly it from my moving boat to film some wakeboarding. Because . guess what?, my old RTH point is now just a patch of water (and far away). This will be very useful.
