There will be low resolution photos stored in a cache on your phone. The high quality images are written to the micro SD card under the flap on the side of the Mavic. You will need a laptop / PC with a card reader to copy them to computer, then on to your phone.

As another newbie pilot, I managed to get Litchi in their Black Friday sale and use it almost exclusively.
I found the Huskie-Flies Litchi tutorial videos very helpful and easy to watch.
I can't wait to try out my next way point mission, but it looks like I will have to wait until after Xmas...
If you are charging the remote, you will not be able to connect to your phone / tablet as the USB port under the grips is disabled when the micro port is plugged into something. Which makes connecting to the Mavic a bit unfullfilling as you cannot change any settings. Sorry, time to watch...

I have just specced an almost identical one (single boot) except for A 1GB Crucial SSD for a video editing space and a GTX 1080 for gaming.
I had pigeons flying close enough to trigger my collision avoidance yesterday. One of them did a very natty wing-over to avoid the Mavic when it was at full pelt and going to hit it.
The Mavic just stopped and they all flew round a couple more times before losing interest. Made me wonder about...
