What do you use as a landing pad?

I don’t use my landing pad anymore. I always hand launch and retrieve. It’s better to become totally practiced at this.

What do you use as a landing pad?

I have stopped using my landing pad altogether. In the end, I found it was better to always hand launch and retrieve.

Anyone else surprised at time since last firmware update?

It’s a sign that the software is stable and that all the bugs have been resolved. In other words,a good thing.

    Drone caught in grass.

Learn to hand launch and retrieve. It’s very easy and saves carrying the pad around.

    Fresh Kill

I meant that it is too close for the bird which is clearly highly stressed by the encounter and might feel it has to vacate a nesting spot that it has invested a lot of work on. It might not even breed this year. You might also want to consider that it is illegal to harass migratory birds in...

    Low flying aircraft

Personally, I find it offensive that light aircraft fly at altitudes below 400 feet over my house. It’s not safe, if there is any inflight problem, they are at risk of crashing into houses because they don’t have the altitude to get to a safer landing spot. Small aircraft crash into houses all...

    Hovering question....... please dont laugh

I’ve tried this from a Danube River cruiser and it ended badly. Unless you hand launch it from the rear of the vessel, anything that is higher than the drone during take off will keep moving forward as part of the vessel while the drone remains stationary. To the observer, it will look like the...

    Launch and return to boat

If you calibrate your compass on shore, you will be fine. Remember there may be other large ferrous objects on a 50 foot boat - like an engine block. As to whether you should calibrate your compass from time to time, I would trust the engineer who designed your drone and ignore random advice...

Seagulls Killed my Mavic Pro :(

This is normal behavior for birds. Small birds regularly mob bigger birds so you might see finches mobbing crows or crows mobbing eagles. Mostly it is about chasing off predators. I have noticed large Redtailed Hawks getting a little too interested in my Mavic Pro, this is hunting behavior IMHO.

Every Flight Is A White Knuckle Experience

Don’t give up. Have you considered your phone might be the problem? You’ve tried everything else. You shouldn’t have to calibrate your IMU or compass on a regular basis.
