This is a classic example of sour grapes and I see it so much here. Those without the equipment needed to appreciate 4K claim it is (in this case) overrated. 4K and higher are awesome.

As usual, common sense solves this debate. How far you push the battery envelope should depend on the circumstances. Close to home in plain sight? Over trees or water with a "difficult view"? Its easy to see when to push it and when to take greater care.

If you were going to be near enough to a safe location on land, you could set the home point there. A friend on land could retrieve it if you were going to be a while getting in.

I got this little guy at walmart for under 20$. The first time you plug it into your ios or android device it directs you to load a very simple app. Card from drone can be viewed directly on, or copied to any device instantly.

It has not reacurred, but I will be more prepared if it does and not be as panicked. It IS the app that fails and this takes out the video with it.

Since the controlled is still connected it is no problem to fly it back. This can be done without the dji go 4 app.

It's really simple (If this was already stated in some way, my apologies) If Wind speed is higher than drone top speed in current mode, it can't get home no matter how much battery strength is left. If you fly longer distances away from you with the wind, you risk losing the aircraft.

I can't believe so many folks here take this click bait seriously.
