There are a few shots in that video that clearly show why so many people are falling tragically from dangerous points on cliffs and rocky mountains..all in the name of wowing us with footage or stills. I know its your life but...

How about slinging a net under where it will fall - shake the tree, saw a branch etc to get it to fall. or use an anglers net on a long pole. Buy two long wood poles, one to rattle branches other with net. Must be worth it over cost to replace?
I did aerial photography from helicopter for years with film cameras. During sunlit day I shot 50 ASA F5.6 and 1/500th sec focus on infinitity, for ideal exposure.
I'm thinking this may be telling you the shutter speed is close to being too slow for that scene where light is fading fast...
