I see. Well in this case I started with 400’ but then lowered the request to 100’ on my last attempt to see if it made a difference. The map in air control showed “0” as the altitude. Good tip about waiver though. I hope the FAA helps solve this in the future. Especially when tiny Caribbean...
Like I said, this is the only airspace I’ve had trouble. Most of the time it’s an instant approval but occasionally near an airport it’s taken a few days. In San Juan, (TJIG), applied at least a month or more in advance each time. I’ll try and gather the details if I can and send them to Vic...
First three times at the same location. LAANC always 1 to 2 months in advance. No response other than pending from Aloft. No problems anywhere else I can remember.
Just finishing a photo shoot for a hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico. I had my drone planning to shoot some aerials but I was ignored by ATC and or LAANC for the third time in two trips over the last 6 months. It's a Class D airspace near a small GA airport but I requested an area to the north of...
Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but if your camera has a RAW setting, use that instead of jpeg. You can also use both on some Mavics. Besides shooting RAW, I also bracket by 3 or 5 frames always protecting the highlights. Try to keep the histogram to the right of center but don’t touch the...
Amazing location! I’m going to test the HLG mode soon and see if using d-log for exterior architectural shots is necessary anymore under normal daytime light.
I just tested the lens after reading your initial post and it's so poor, I'm not sure software can fix it. I did a few stills and some video. Horrible is the best I can rate it. I don't understand how DJI could let something like that out of the factory. I actually forgot that lens was there...
Sorry but I don't think a Mavic 3 is visible at 1+ miles away. Maybe a tiny spec if your eyes are amazing but I doubt it would meet the legal criteria of VLOS.
A new Inspire 3 will probably make the comparison moot. The Inspire will still be for people that require a pro camera. Although the M3 has the best camera yet for a fixed lens model, it doesn‘t offer the flexibility of an interchangeable lens camera, that can be controlled by another person...
I haven't been flying for a few weeks now other than for a few minutes testing the new firmware. I did charge batteries and they seem to at least top off quickly. I'll test it out again next week on a shoot. I hope it resolves itself. I'm not so sure it's OK to use a more powerful charger unless...
Although I think the new M4/3 sensor camera is very good and probably the best so far in a Mavic, (in my experience with it). I do agree the little telephoto is a joke. It looks like it was designed by a committee and not a professional photo/videographer. Most of our "pro DSLR camera" choices...
I did my first shoot with the M3 this past week and the results are good but it's relative. A fixed AF lens with a M4/3 sensor is going to have its limits. I worked on some of the images yesterday and they look as good as the last shoot I did with an Inspire. A M4/3 sensor is an absolute minimum...
