I looked into it on this site and YouTube. I purchased a hard case that I love (Nanuk 920), upgraded battery charger, 2 batteries, 2 props. I love it all and am glad I have what I wanted instead of what came with the bundle. I travel a lot and wanted a sturdy case. I could not be more happy...

So, I liken it to anything else new with a decent amount of money, investment and risk. Take short little flights and read & research in between flights. Your confidence will build up, but never lose respect. Stay humble to what you are still learning, but enjoy it, it is supposed to be fun!

Why not try a landing pad. They are pretty portable and easy to use.

That came out great! The bugs here were so bad that I ran inside after 5 minutes. Nice job! Not an AC/DC fan, but that song worked well.
