I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

Thanks, Not as common this side of the pond but I'll be making good use of it from now on. Some funny vids on Youtube when you search.

Flying in big cities (heliports galore)

If 26 helo, then it is impossible today... maybe will be an app for that.... If you can keep it near treetops and well lower than the 400 ft. UAV limit, and be willing to crash it when anything gets in your way.. then I think you might be okay. The first time I took my Mavic to 400, I had not...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

I reply to my own post here to clarify. I was coy in that I said that I see a problem in the language. I really thought it was obvious but only a few picked up on it. Paul from N. Ireland best expressed it. (and I have a new word in my arsenal...) Only reply if you are fluent in English or any...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

You have out-distanced my MPP by a bit (2M),.. great video and nice subject area. I would have really enjoyed full resolution at normal speed. I am however, concerned that you may have disturbed permanent citizens at the LZ. I am standing by to receive complaints.... hello, testing 123...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

Do you always fly your Mavic at a designated model airplane flying field? Bet that gets old.

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

I think it's way more than a typo. Use of "dont" is a typo. Overly broad terms like "playing areas" is not. This law was poorly written in 2008 and completely obsolete in 2018. I may be flying over City Hall soon...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

Here is a not so far fetched hypothetical situation... Suppose I live adjacent to a municipal park with wide open spaces and very few people. What if I take off from my back yard and fly over the park at 400 ft. AGL, take some nice pictures, then return and land in my back yard. Assume I flew in...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

Bingo! Paul, you are the first to read this carefully as I suggested in first post. It doesn't describe the prohibited activity. It could be "to possess" or to "discuss" or <insert any verb here>. We can all make assumptions about what the law means. They probably meant "to operate", but they...

I Can't believe this has been law for 10 years

Here is the actual law as written in my city... there are no typos or words omitted. Read sentence number one carefully and tell me if you see a problem. I do. (Raymore, Missouri, USA). SECTION 250.060: - MODEL AIRPLANES AND REMOTE CONTROL VEHICLES It shall be unlawful for any model airplane...

    Kansas City, MO

Nice, have you encountered much enforcement of the "no drone" rules in KCMO parks? I think I am legal if I take off and land outside park, but I think there is an ordinance prohibiting flying within the park except in Longview case, the air-field for which you might be required to be member of...

    Ive contracted an incurable disease

You've done it all wrong... get a $180 Walmart GPS drone, fly it too high (at night) into 22kt winds and watch it sail away. Only then will you part with $1400 for the search & rescue MPP, then the Litchi app to map out the search grid... and now I will of course need a P4P to follow the MPP in...

Wind strength before MPP wont fly?

+1 on the advice to use UAV Forecast or similar. Winds are crazy - make sure to look at 200-400 feet before you go there. - UAV Forecast

This should be interesting. . . first everything.

FYI, I took my MPP up with similar below freezing temperatures, and had severe jello in the video. In normal temps, it is gone (I think). Always watch your winds aloft as they can get crazy at 200-400 feet. Sport mode may be your friend in that case, and if panic, lower altitude if possible.

Problem ? PolarPro shutter Cinema ND 8 filter

Wow, beautiful picture. Not sure what the problem was. Perhaps someone more photo experienced could point out.

    State Farm canceled me today

I was unclear on the nature of the claim. Did your drone damage another's property, or did you claim damage to your drone. If the latter, I am double surprised. I too have State Farm, but also a $3000 deductible. What did you hit?
