Mavic Pro - Phantom 4 Pro - High Wind - A clear winner!

Don't think I'm blaming DJI or anyone else? I'm all about operator error. No worries there. Simply putting forth my experience from the two drones under the same relative conditions is all.

Mavic Pro - Phantom 4 Pro - High Wind - A clear winner!

Greetings everyone, I wanted to share with everyone what transpired earlier in the week while out taking commercial aerial shots of a building in Oklahoma City. No, this is not a P4P vs Mavic Pro thread. Nor is it even a remotely scientific analysis of my findings. It's simply something that...

    Another new Mavic owner

Congrats! As to the low noise props? Well, I've tried them both and - to be candid - while quieter, the Mavic Pro isn't really 'that' loud to begin with. Moreover, my experience with the low noise props was that they made the Mavic Pro a bit 'floaty' and not as stable in the air. At least not...

    Passed The Part 107!!

Congrats! I passed my 107 in December. Still waiting for the license in the mail. You are correct in that the test is no cake walk. I would advise anyone thinking of taking the test to not take it lightly. It's legit. Don't think that you can walk into it (regardless of your education) and...

    Emailing FAA

While I can't speak to your specific situation. I can share with you my experience(s) in communicating with the FAA via email. Prior to my acquiring my 107, I had a few questions here and there and would fire off an email to the FAA. I really didn't expect to hear back from anyone. And if I did...

Drone on Emirates Flight - Help please

Why would you KNOWINGLY ignore the emirates guidelines? Moreover, what makes you feel you are not subject to them?

    Regular or low noise props?

My experience was that the new props were a bit quieter. Not by much, however. Moreover, I didn't find the mavic pro's original props to be 'loud' to begin with. I also found the new low noise props to be a bit flimsy and the mavic pro a bit less stable in flight when using them. I have since...

    New Mavic Pro Propellers

Here' s my non-scientific take on the new props vs the standard ones. Yes, they do appear quieter. Yes, they do appear to be a bit more 'flimsy' than the standard props. They also appear (to me) to make the Mavic a bit more 'floaty'. Probably not the best description. While quieter, I didn't...

    Sunset above the clouds

So do the FAA rules of staying 500 feet below clouds and 2000 feet away from them not apply? Just curious as I find the footage to be awesome. While at the same time, wouldn't want to find myself in a pickle if trying to do the same thing.

    New user, urgent help please

I'd say get an iPad Mini 4 and be done with it. That's what I use for both my Spark and my Mavic Pro. No issues whatsoever.

Mavic Pro vs Spark - Crazy overexposed images. Help!!

I've tried shooting with and without ND filters for panos. End result is a ridiculously overexposed image. It seems to take shots so rapidly that it doesn't afford the camera any time to meter. And as I mentioned above, worked without any problems using the Spark. Not sure what's going on...

    Photography and Video Help

Yes, you can switch from vid to pics in flight. Depending on the level of image quality you are shooting at, you can even capture 'stills' from your video in your editing software as well. I alternate from video to stills routinely while in flight. Not a issue.

Mavic Pro vs Spark - Crazy overexposed images. Help!!

I tried doing the Sphere mode again today with a ND 16 filter on my Mavic Pro in hopes that it would garner better results. NOPE. Almost every image taken in Sphere mode is way overexposed. When I looked at my iPad as it was taking the shots, it seemed as though it was/is set up to take the...

    360 degree pano.....Litchi vs DJIgo

My panos using the DJI Go app on my Mavic Pro come out insanely overexposed. Almost to the point to where they are unusable. Not sure what's going on? They turn out amazing when using my Spark.
