SWARM OF DRONES DESCEND ON ARIZONA NUCLEAR PLANT

While this is definitely a disturbing occurrence, I gotta say I do love the term "drone-a-palooza."

Turn props off in mid-air for fast descent (and on again :-)

So, we know it takes about 50m from the time the motors turn on til it stabilizes itself. My question is, how long do you have to wait between turning the motors off and turning them back on? Is there a buffer period for it to reset or can the actions be done back to back almost instantaneously...

    Mavic Pro Buying Help

You say you're a young drone enthusiast. Do you currently own any drones, or this looking to be your first?

    Drone comparisons

All I can say is, portability, portability, portability! I liked my Phantom, but will never go back after getting a Mavic.

Drone Filming a Wedding Accidentally Catches Footage of a Wild Car Crash

One, I agree with the comment about having a reception in the middle of a highway being a bad idea. Not only is that dangerous, but does anyone think that actually makes a nice backdrop?? Two, could anyone else tell if that was a person or something else that flew out the rear window?

    In need of honest info.

For a business (and fun) the Mavic 2 Pro or Phantom 4 Pro would both be phenomenal. They're easy to fly, reliable, and have AWESOME cameras. I have a Mavic Pro Platinum right now that I love, but would totally upgrade to a Mavic 2 Pro if it weren't for the whole money thing. The only thing you...

Soaring over Portland - Sunset in the City of Roses

I love getting pictures of bridges around Portland! Here's a shot of a crow that swooped right below me while shooting the Broadway. And yes, the bridge in question from one of the previous posters is the Hawthorne. The Steel is much taller with a passenger walkway below it.

    Low flying aircraft

I knew open water was ok. Just open water through the middle of a city seems a bit weird.

    Crazy flight

Yep, happened to me with my MPP once. As far as I know, no real danger. It's definitely a scary feeling when something goes wrong and you don't know what.

    Low flying aircraft

I saw the most bizarre thing the other day. I was driving across the interstate bridge from downtown Portland, and from there you can see a good ways down the river towards the industrial area. A small one or two person plane flew over the bridge and started descending rather rapidly. At first I...

    How to handle ahole bystanders

I do the same. And honestly, I'd bet that most of the time no one is even seeing it. I'm usually flying at 300'-400' up and not directly over people. My MPP is also pretty quiet, so I'm not too worried about people hearing it. It's range, size, and quietness all make it perfect for avoiding...

    MP2 Should I buy?

I know I don't have that kind of strength. If I bought a Mavic 2, it'd be open before I got from the mailbox to the front door. :D

    Flying further than LOS

I definitely agree with this, but I think the keyword is "less". Now this is just me playing devil's advocate, but I think the general argument isn't whether or not flying BLOS is unsafe, but how unsafe. There are hundreds of things we do in everyday life that could be made safer, but we make...

    RTH w/ Precision Landing

I think I used RTH once, then was like "nope, never again with that beeping."

What percentage of flights do you call an airport?

Depending on the area, there can be plenty of reason to fly within the area of an airport. Sometimes, most of the scenic cityscape shots are within 5 miles of an airport. There's also a lot of nice picturesque parks in my city relatively close to an airport.
