how big can this hobby get

I am old fashioned and still use desktop computers. I recently upgraded mine with a AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 16 Gb ram and a GTX 2060 graphic card mainly so I can edit videos It is possibly toward the top of the 4K league(you do need a monitor that will take 4K as well). I was lucky, my wife’s...

    Oh nooooooo

Out of interest I looked at the Government air bridge list, most of the countries required you on entry, to in room quarantine for 14 days at a government appointed hotel. At your (rather high) expense. Why have we not pressed into service some of our mothballed RAF stations/married quarters...

    Flying in the cold

Even in 20c if you carry batteries in a thin rucksack, wind chill can reduce the temperature and give you the cold battery warning.

    Flying in the cold

Forget the drone (except as above) the biggest problem I have found in cold weather, it is the phone or tablet that are not built for prolong exposure to cold and wind chill and often cause the picture to break up.

Mavic Air 2 controller: incessant beeping

Do you get any reference to stick error? I ask because I had this problem with my 2 yr old Mavic 2, it was intermittent and re calibrating the controller only cured it for one or two flights. Also at the start of the calibration process when you leave the sticks central, I notices slight (up to...

How To Deliver A Beer With A Drone (a Mavic Air 2 in particular!)

Thanks JimWest, it has been tried with lighter lines and will take more line but the water will still pull a light line down. Also the lighter the line make it difficult for heavier lines to be pulled accross by us for the same reason, moving water is a strong force.

How To Deliver A Beer With A Drone (a Mavic Air 2 in particular!)

Nice research Thmoore. I have been experimenting with delivering a safety- line across rivers with our water rescue team, and have found that my Marvic 2 Zoom will lift 1kg which is 20 metres of line. My biggest problem is not to let the growing trailing loop touch the water as it will very...

    Flying during lockdown

I have been lucky here on the outskirts of the Lake District, I have to take the dog for a walk so I take both the dog and the drone for a walk.

    Water-landing accessory!

I use my M2Z for water rescue work and have fitted one of these kits to it. Not to land on the water but to act as a life jacket, so it does not sink untill we can rescue it, that way I still have a drone to present to the insurance company.

    Best Mavic 2 Charging Hub

Yes I bought the adapter seperatly from Ebay. It works fine with the DJI charger but not the 6 in 1 could be a current stability problem.

    Best Mavic 2 Charging Hub

I have this one and it is very good. However strange, this charger is not compatable with the CrystalSky charging hub using an adapter cable, but the DJI charger is. so if like me you bought the 6 in 1 to charge your CrystalSky get the smaller 5 in 1 and save a bit of money.

    BBC 2 tonight 9-30

Some of the explanations that should have come out during the documentary from a rather more contrite Aldo Kane https://www.londonlive.co.uk/news/2019-07-03/aldo-kane-is Ignore after the drone Item (unless it is of interest)
