The charging hub does have a USB port for firmware updates but there has not been one released yet for it.
The batteries will prompt you to update in the DJI go 4 app if it is needed. It will throw an 'inconsistent firmware found' pop up to let you know.
Got my 3 batteries in February with the flymore and they have not needed an update. Picked up a 4th a week ago from dronenerds and it did need a firmware update the first time I put it in the Mavic.

The hub I have has a USB port for updating; nevertheless, mine is not recognized as a DJI device by DJI assistant 2...

Isn't that micro USB port in the hub for charging the controller or other stuff?

Or I could try connecting it to the Mavic; still that's not how DJI products are supposed to upgrade their firmware...
