This is a picture of the Santa Rita Mountains taken from 395 feet above Whipple Observatory Drive. The light colored peak in front is Elephant Head. The tall peak behind that is Mt. Hood, where several of the Whipple Observatory domes are located. Behind Mt. Hood is the tallest peak, Mt. Wrightson at 9,543 feet above sea level.

Further along Whipple Observatory Drive is the Whipple Observatory VERITAS array for imaging gamma rays.

The large mirror are used in series, as a single imaging system. This is the first time I've been able to see the entire setup. From the visitor parking lot, only part of the array is visible.

Thanks gentlemen. I tried to send the little bugger up to the top of Mt. Hood from the visitor parking lot, at the bottom of the mountain.

I never lost control of the Mavic 2, but around half way there, I stopped receiving video feeds telling me what the drone was doing.

At that point, I initiated return-to-home and gave up on that shot.
