Flying abroad - primarily within the EU

Hi All - looking at possibly taking my drone abroad with me to a number of different countries within the EU over the coming months (so far looking at Greece, Spain, Portugal, Canary/Balearic Islands etc). It's not clear/easy to understand what is required within certain countries in terms of...

    Mavic air 2

Another UK flyer - welcome! :) I also use the MA2 and I'm extremely impressed by it. The drone does not have side sensors, so always carry out a check on your surroundings before taking off :)

    Flying drone above own garden

It is a bit of grey area in that they haven't really defined what a 'built up area' is - but generally, I tend to stay away from streets/villages to prevent any form of annoyance/privacy concerns. Save yourself a confrontation and don't fly above your garden :)

    Mavic Air 2 Battery charging.

Hello! I would advise undocking them - although they are intelligent batteries and do switch off charging when fully charged, I take them off the dock to make sure I don't run into any problems.

    Ordered my first Drone!

Should only take you 30 minutes to read the drone code & complete the registration :) This forum has a lot of active users that help people everyday, but feel free to PM me if you've got any questions or concerns around UK drone flying etc.

    Ordered my first Drone!

It's super simple - multiple answer theory test (similar to a driving license theory test, but for drones!). https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/individual The cost is £9 - cheap as chips (well, £9 for chips is expensive, but you get the idea). I do suggest you read the drone code before taking...

Max Power Load Reached on MA2

I just spoke with DJI support on this, as it does strike a concern to me (considering I never got this error when using my Mini!); EDIT: I further queried this with DJI support; ME: Based on your response, are you saying this is a potential fault, and could result in drone malfunction...

    Ordered my first Drone!

Hello & Welcome from a rainy Wales, UK! (Although later today, tomorrow & Thursday we should be reaching around 28 degrees!). I also have the Mavic Air 2, and it's a crazy bit of kit - you'll definitely enjoy it! Just an FYI (as most in the UK seem to forget!), you will need to register for a...

Max Power Load Reached on MA2

I've got this on a few flights too - not sure if its something I should be concerned about? I got mine in normal mode, too.

    Is DJI Care worth it?

Not much at all, unless I plan to film in 2.7K and a small distance, otherwise I always use my Air 2 (4K 60fps, much better at fighting strong winds etc). It's definitely still a great drone, and I often show people that are interested in drones the Mini as it comes at a much cheaper price &...

    Is DJI Care worth it?

No problem - if you have the Air 2, which is pricey, I would take advantage of the DJI Refresh Care, as you'll save yourself a lot of money if something were to happen. With the Mini, I was also in the same mindset - it's not 'too' expensive, however, with the weather in the UK (especially...

    Is DJI Care worth it?

Not at the moment - I'm still not 100% confident with flying over water etc. But say if I did happen to crash into a tree, hit a power line, or whatever it may be, I can get a replacement at a minor cost compared to the drones value. I look at it like car insurance - you won't make a claim each...
  13. Q

    Is DJI Care worth it?

Yup - the Mavic Mini refresh care costed £35.
  14. Q

    Is DJI Care worth it?

Definitely - I have a Mavic Air 2. The DJI refresh is around £79, and this allows me to return the drone if crashed, and get a brand new replacement for £69 (instead of paying another £949). https://product3.djicdn.com/uploads/image/file/[email protected]

Mavic Air 2 Pics in Kentucky

Looks great! Jealous as it has been too windy here in the UK to fly safely! (20+ mph wind).
