So I bought this drone from amazon ca. When it arrived, one of the batteries isn't charging, it's just blinking 4 lights for 3 times (according to the manual the battery is damaged) then it will repeat its sequence. I contacted amazon regarding the issue and without asking they gave me a 60$ voucher to purchase a new battery. I didn't expect that the conversation will be that fast and easy. If any of you guys bought mavic mini from amazon and have issue contact them as early as possible.1590848985367.png

I find Amazon UK absolutely useless at the moment. Lies & fake promises about an order I have with them (not drone related). Shows how 2 people can have completely opposite experiences of the same company, all depends who deals with your enquiry.

I bought my Mini from Amazon.ca and will be returning it to them around the 23-day mark. When it comes to buying and returning for free, it is almost as easy as the big box stores like BestBuy. Complaining via chat has mixed results always, and they promise the world 99% of the time but rarely deliver. I am always assured someone will follow up with me on day XX and when that day comes, nothing... trying to follow up is pointless as you will get the same copy & paste song and dance each time assuring you they will fix the problem, this will never happen again, and all sorts of things they should never be saying it has totally ruined my ability to believe anything they say. That said, I order almost every day often have a parade of trucks coming and going, often at the same time, talk about inefficiency.

The reason for the return is, as usual (and true), Performance or quality not as expected (close to that, I've selected it a hundred times but suddenly don't remember). No planning flights using GPS and Maps just kills it for me as I love to send drones on long-distance flights and have them go out of range then come back a bit later with all sorts of interesting footage. Well, that is my "just for fun" use when I am messing around. Something about autonomous drones I just love. I didn't really do my homework to know the feature doesn't exist as it does on every other GPS drone I have. I guess I was looking at DJI GO (4) supported drone. I may just buy a better used DJI drone that has more advanced features, allows coding, and can carry a bit more weight, that is if I don't find an Ardupilot or other open-source drone kit for a decent price. I'd rather find a ready-to-build kit and customize it to what I want and that has a large community behind it adding features and whatnot.

Anyway, this was about Amazon. Bought it easy, will return it almost as easy. Even if I were to keep it I would just return and replace to get care refresh.

While it has been awhile, my last few orders with Amazon did not go well and were delivered very late. On the last order, customer support told me that unless you pay for expedited shipping, or have Prime...they make no attempt at shipping promptly. Orders shipped via the “better” methods take precedence. So, while the actual shipping times listed with items are accurate...it may take a week or more before it is actually shipped.

Di you actually purchase from amazon, or a marketplace seller? what does it say for "sold by" on the order? If they were very late, I would have to guess you didn't order from Amazon, but a 3rd party seller. They do ship promptly, I get items the same day I buy them, but because I only by amazon or fulfilled by amazon items. With that you get a date and it will 99% of the time be that date. If it took longer than expected you went and bought directly from a 3rd party on their marketplace. If the item is a Prime item, then it is in their warehouses and they deal with shipping, if it doesn't say prime, well then you're only going to get a general window of when it "may" arrive. I don't think you understand how Amazon works, I would go read the help section a bit.

All three items ordered were "fulfilled by Amazon " and listed as in stock.

When customer support told me on the phone that that they make no effort to ship quickly, unless I pay for Prime or expedited shipping, I was...and am...done with Amazon.

These items all had clearly listed shipping times, which have no meaning if they sit on the order for a week. That's my complaint.

At least in one case, I found the same item...cheaper...and shipped dramatically quicker on the Wal-Mart site.

I almost exclusively buy pro-gear from BH Photo. Unmatched customer service, rapid shipping...and with their Payboo card (I know, bad name) they cover the sales tax. Have a tech question? They have folks that can help. Who are you going to contact at Amazon?

All that being said, I find it a bit irresponsible that you're willing to use Amazon's return policy to correct what appears to be a lack of research with your purchase. A call to a specialist dealer would likely steered you into another direction that would have avoided the purchased you're not happy with...and had the right item in your hands.

To each their own...looks like we're gonna disagree here.

My Amazon story goes like this- at the start of the epidemic I ordered $40 USD worth of masks (40 masks). I am Prime member. Order promised for one week. At one week, was notified order delayed for two weeks. After 6 weeks and no masks, I requested and received a complete refund credit to my account. At 7 weeks, I received masks, which I intend to keep. So I am not feeling very obligated to notify Amazon. Tracking all the time, I discovered that the masks were made and shipped from China, and a slow cargo ship. With why I am sort of NOT feeling for China and Amazon, I have no regrets.

I bought my Mini from BH Photo. I doubt there's better customer service when it comes to these things.

While I am in the minority, I don't buy anything on Amazon.
So you buy sunglasses from B&H?
I love B&H too But they don’t sell everything.

Of course not, I buy pro audio and video gear from BH. Have done so for a very long time.

Nope, BH doesn't sell "everything", but I have no problem buying whatever I need avoiding Amazon.

Look, I get it...there are lots of folks that love Amazon...I'm not one of them.

One thing I will never buy from amazon or DJI is sd cards.
I've gotten counterfeits from both, and of course DJI is way overpriced.

Alas I too buy waaay too much stuff from Amazon. I work on the road (well, got furloughed last week) and come home every weekend to 10-15 boxes and bags of stuff. Don't even really know what's in most of it. I recently met a guy (in person at his store) as I was getting... wait for it.... more stuff! He was surrounded by mavic merchandise he sells, builds super gaming computers, into all thing video, drone and computer. It looks like I'm going to be doing repairs on drones ? . I wondered if any of your members have info about becoming an Official Mavic Dealer? Or have advice for me (which I will pass on to the Buisness owner) with respect to developing a commercial relationship with DJI? Any advice would be helpful! Well I'm off to buy more stuff. From Amazon.

If you contact DJI about the battery, they will send you a prepaid shipping label and will replace it quickly. I had the same thing happen to me through a different vendor. They gave me cash back to purchase a new one and I sent the bad one back and got a new one free. I figured the original refund paid for the inconvenience.

I purchase all my SD cards from Amazon but I only get the Samsung EVOs and I have never had a problem. Great price and very high performance. I keep all my data on them so I can switch between computers easily and if Ii ever have an issue with one of my computers, i can pull out the SD card, go to another computer and I am back up and running. Of course, back them up regularly.

I was hesitant to contact DJI because it takes a while to be in touch with them, the last time I tried contacting them. I was in queue 30 and took me almost 2hrs to be in 17 and that's why I contacted amazon if they could help me, then that's how I got the free battery.

I went through their website and it only took a few minutes to open up a case. They then emailed me the free return address label for me to send it bad. Easy and took little effort. I would still try to send it back via their site.

To each their own...looks like we're gonna disagree here.

If the item is shipped via a prime method, it is handled by them, if you select a non-prime method then it is no longer fulfilled by amazon but by the seller, so if you are saying you picked the slower non-prime method, then they have nothing to do with the shipping. If you don't receive the goods though, at 30 days you could have opened an A-to-Z dispute to get your refund and had it shortly.

Walmart has begun to the the same thing, have their website be a marketplace where the majority of goods don't actually come from and are not sold by them. In the same way with amazon it varys from seller to seller how long it will take and their location. Many are just dropshipping off of sites like aliexpress.

BH Photo is a different as they are not a marketplace from what I see and they deal with the product, selling to shipping. This is where I thought there was a misunderstanding as you are comparing apples to oranges when you bring BH into the mis.

Amazon actually does offer tech support for many products purchased through them, I used it just the other day, so the answer to you question is, you can contact Amazon via your product order page and clicking something regarding product support.

Hey, Home Depot lets me return things up to a year after purchase for any reason. Buying something based on a lack of research then returning it is part of why the return option for that exact situation is an option on the dropdown for returns. In the long run they make more because I usually don't return things, this was an impulse purchase after spending a bunch of time trying to source out a good autonomous drone kit. I saw the mavic mini, thought of their other products and didn't imagine that it would be lacking a feature almost every other GPS drone has, thus why "performance or quality not adequate" was the reason I selected for the return and it was approved. I have many other GPS drones, and even the ones 1/3rd the price can do flight planning. I learn now that this is a feature that is to come, at some point, but right now the drone is still a work in progress with no SDK out. I had actually been looking at the ultra cheap tellos so I could get a couple to program a swarm, but again didn't realize this more expensive model would be so limited in ability.

I was on Amazon and just bough it on a whim, my bad, but I only did so because there is a return policy in place that allows you to do this sort of thing and not feel guilty about it. Had I called a specialist dealer I wouldn't have got this drone, but I didn't. So I am just going to use the return policy for one reason it is there, no need to think of it is irresponsible when the system is setup that makes this ok, like home depot.

Amazon is my go to place to order ANYTHING. You do have to watch if something is sold BY amazon or SHIPPED by amazon from a reseller vs shipped by a reseller. All 3 cases can still be tagged as PRIME. Shipped by a reseller your at their mercy for promptness, quality and return smoothness. I only buy stuff tagged as Prime 99% of the time. They have NEVER failed me. Every call ended up better than expected. Often crediting me and keeping the item. Or the item showing up late but free. I sign up for Prime without blinking an eye. And I’ll even pay a higher price now for there worry free service. It’s easier than using a big box store.

On returns as soon as UPS or Kohl’s scans the return the credit is on my account.

Not quite. An item tagged as Prime does not mean it is fulfilled by Amazon. It just means the Prime policies apply. So a reseller can ship it free to you and receive it in under 2 days, free returns etc. But you might not get the instant credit (when scanned at the shipper) like you do with Amazon fulfilled items.

There is:

Prime - Sold by Amazon - Fulfilled by Amazon
Prime - Sold by Reseller - Fulfilled by Amazon
Prime - Sold by Reseller - Fulfilled by Reseller
Non Prime - Sold by Reseller - Fulfilled by Reseller

The last case can still be free or paid ship.

You might get different customer service if you are signed up for Prime. You will get different customer service on the 4 cases above.

I don’t hold anything against Amazon on ship times during the epidemic. But generally they have still been good.

I do wish they would tell you which carrier they will use before ordering.
