Mini 4 Pro Unstable on the pitch axis

Hi. Did you get response from DJI yet about the evaluation?

Negative on the evaluation. I doubt I’ll get one either. They offered a new Mini 4 Pro at a reduced D

I have a new M4P from DJI for $35.
Zero explanation for the issue. I should have talked them down to $0, but I don’t have time for a bunch of BS.
I’ve not had time to fly it yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Can you provide the .txt log for this flight?

Believe it or not, I don't have a working PC right now. Smartphone tech has come far enough that I'm able to use my Galaxy Fold 4 for all my computing needs, so I've been lazy about getting my laptop fixed.

I've yet to find a way to mount the RC2 on the phone and extract logs.

If your RC2 is set to sync with DJI then you can use AirData or PhantomHelp log viewer to retrieve the .txt from DJI.

Two pilots at the official forum confirmed that replacement drone did not fix the issue. Unfortunately, that means that this model has tuning / software, or even worse, design or hardware issue .

I’ve been flying my replacement M4P quite a bit lately. In reasonable winds, it’s behaving and operating as it should. In winds that are above its rated speed, it does exhibit some bucking, but not like the old unit, all the time in any head or crosswind.

In short, the replacement unit is operating as it should.

I will likely pirchase an Air 3 or wait for the new version of the Air 3 when my Mavic 3 Pro sells.

I am glad that your device is operating as it should. I am now more confused about this issue as pilots are reporting different results. I am wondering if it is possible that there is such a performance difference between units of this model, what is going on.

Beats me.

My guess is variability of conditions is what makes this seem so random, requiring a relatively narrow set of ground speed, wind speed, and wind direction relative to course and heading in order to cause the oscillation.

But it's not random in the sense that some members don't have to work very hard to see the problem. I tried a lot of combinations but couldn't make my Mini 4 Pro oscillate.

Making comparison between CG/IMU relative position from Mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro I discover a difference on CG position, that is normal if the two drone are completely different , but in case of mini 3 and mini 4 : -17 mm delta in z axis are really strange , maybe this can be one of the root cause

Mini 3 pro (fw0600)
IMU_x default 5
IMU_y default 0
IMU_z default -10

Mini 4 pro (fw0300)
IMU_x default 5
IMU_y default 0
IMU_z default -27
