No worries thanks guys. 500m is mighty high and I don't expect to see much more than 1/10 of that with this craft, will be sure to report results if I ever get into it with that bird though.

Just for arguments sake if our local wedge tailed eagles decided to pick it up and ditch from 2000m, would I have any control? Slight concerns but can probably live with the auto switch after a bit of stress testing

Thanks very helpful What happens if it exceeds the 500m? Auto descent? Is this still under GPS control or just self leveling? Are you able to point me to info on flight modes, I've seen how smart it can be but I'd like to know how much control I can take back if / when it starts acting up.

Weighing up options between off the shelf camera quads and trying to figure out what will work for me. I'm looking for something to build skills in taking aerial footage which is something I currently have no experience with. I understand the mavic is supposed to be easy to fly which is fine...
