This happened to me... similar situation. Sport mode, full speed, pedal to the metal. I eased up, the warning went away, and I haven't seen it since. I'm guessing that the mavic wanted more than the battery wanted to give, but just slightly. I doubt any harm was done.

All I can say is that a drone through the windshield while cruising at something over 100 knots will be fatal for all onboard the aircraft. I don't know how I could live with that. 400' keeps everybody safe.

I think you may be right, but so much depends on where you fly. I like to follow a stream near my house, which meanders a lot. Because of the trees, I lose signal sometimes in less than half a mile. They aren't kidding when DJI says you need line of sight.
