I think some of you are intentionally blind. Advertising pays for this forum. Just because members allow their photos to be used for free doesn't change that the forum is paying bills with money from someone. This page alone on my computer has four advertisements. Many of you think the OP...
I think it's interesting that most of you point out that FAA draws the line at commercial photography usage w/wo profit, but have no complaint about a forum that post both your drone pictures and adds for whatever on the same page.
OK, thanks for the thoughts. Tangles are a concern. I don't know what the prop wash would look like or if it cycles, so I might try an experiment (out in a hay field ?). I'm supposing the tether would always be under the Mavic and just blow any slack in the line downward. I'm not expecting to...
Just looking for opinions....
All the rules in the US seem to be predicated on the assumption that there is a big difference in danger levels once a flying object is not in contact with a person/operator. So no rules exist for helium balloons, or kites, or even U-control planes. (I would throw...
I can't tell just yet if this is a 'handwriting on the wall' moment or not. A p______ match between the US and DJI will not go well for me as an owner of a Mavic. I'm thinking about what to do to protect my investment. I wonder about downloading the re-flash programs mentioned (I followed the...
DJI replaced the battery that locked up during the firmware update. It took a little over a month to get it all done. Since then I have accepted the .900 update, so the new battery needed updated too. That took only seconds. I haven't tried to fly yet, maybe next week.
Questions more than comments....
* doesn't AMA insurance apply?
* if the drone is in the air, what angle constitutes "over" people?
* since Washington State has colloquial laws about law suits, are you sure you understand what's happening? (Washington law is not the same as normal US law, I've...
I like the rubber band quick fix idea. A lot of old RC planes have their wing on that way. As to the DJI warranty, well I just got a battery replaced. It had the firmware lock problem. It was sent to Cerritos (?) in the middle of June and just came home yesterday. So warranty is a slow process.
For what its worth.... the problems I have occurred while updating firmware with an iPad mini. It connects through the house wifi and Comcast to the internet. I'm pretty sure none of that matters because I am convinced there is an intentional function of the DJI software to reject non-oem...
I have shipped the battery to DJI for replacement. The two center green lights are still on (w/an off blink at 13 seconds). Had to ship it that way which makes me uncomfortable.
I got some interesting advice last week from one of the forum members that I was afraid to try ( probably just my...
I think the problems people are seeing with batteries is more complicated than the manual covers. Perhaps DJI has more information to share in other documents?
I believe the question is about only LED 3 and 2 being on and winking at about 12 seconds. The manual does not address that on page 29. I am asserting (my opinion) that DJI 800 update is killing batteries it incorrectly sees as not original. I have already entered my claim request for mine.
I was installing the 800 update and the software decided my battery was not DJI (or I think so anyway). So now I have a ruined battery. It's practically new (is one of three in the kit), only one flight maybe. I think it was a proprietary intentional kill action by DJI. Except it is the battery...
Not sure but I think update 800 just destroyed a battery. The firmware update failed and the Mavic wouldn't turn off. The LEDs all went solid red and the battery green lights cycle briefly off every 12 seconds. Just the two center lights. The IPad message said something like "not a DJI battery...
