Cute video. Heartwarming story! Someday maybe the rules will catch up with reality and exempt flights of UAV's in airspace that a manned aircraft cannot fly. Such as within 50' of a structure or under 75' AGL.

It seems that some people assume (wrongly) that drones under 250 grams/.55 pounds are exempt from FAA regulations. It is my understanding that although you do not have to register these drones/pilots you still are governed by all FAA regulations regarding UAS use.

Just to be clear, as a Recreational flier you can fly at night, but are strobe lights like the optional lights included with the Mavic 2 enterprise drones required for night flight?
