Remember, this price is for their target customer which is government agencies that have a big budget and needs to train people on drones to do things like inspect power lines, whatever. It's not for consumers

It does not work with the mavic-2 yet. They did not announce that. I would have barely been tried it if they had for a said than the mavic 2 zoom controller didn't work with the software

Most drone pilots who fly their drone more than a couple hundred feet away violate the VLOS rule regularly. And we all know it. Is that safe? Depends totally on what you are flying over. Use common sense at all times and make safety your goal always.

I am wondering how many flight hours one can reasonably expect from a Mavic Pro. Those of you with previous DJI drones who fly a lot, do you have any rough estimate of hours? And how do they tend to "die"?

That sounds reasonable. If the drone can no longer get an acknowledgement from the controller it switches to Return to Home. And unless the head wind is greater than about 30 miles per hour it should be able to fight it's way back with the battery power that is left.

Today I was trying to use "Follow Me" mode for the first time. Took the drone to 36 feet, made sure the camera could see me. I was then going to walk across the field. I clicked on Follow Me, and Apply. I got the message "Follow Me Mode failed. Mission Conflict What causes this? Thanks.
