Please, no offense taken! I usually use dish soap for grommets in firewalls and things like that too, but they don't usually have any load on them after they are installed. It just seemed to me that it could leave a slippery film that could allow them to slip back out in the future more...

I had a DraganFlyer back in 2003. Got mildly proficient at flying it, but hadn't really had it out in years. So, I'm fairly new to the field of 'Automated Drones.'

Perhaps, but dish soap will stay somewhat slippery after drying, allowing for a greater chance of recurrence. Saliva, while mildly distasteful , will dry completely and not remain slippery.
Ouch! That doesn't look like an easy fix. Two methods come to mind, however. Both ways seem like they would work best if you can remove the rubber mounts from the gimbal base plate first.
