I did a little bit more sniffing around with this issue. Come to find out, the Go app has to be used in landscape mode but there is another app (Rotation Control) that allows you to use your full sized tablet in portrait mode.

That's interesting that you mention the Go app might not work in portrait mode of the iPad. I had not thought of that and I don't remember ever reading that anywhere. I guess I will wait to hear something from someone. If not, I am going with the mini 4 because I know it will work.

I am picking up my new Mavic tomorrow and need to get a tablet for the remote. Is anyone using the 9.7" iPad in the remote device? Everyone seems to be using the iPad mini 4. The regular iPad is 6.67" wide and the iPad mini is 8" long, so the regular iPad should fit without an adapter.

Wouldn't you be able to use the 9.7" ipad turned up-and-down (portrait) in the controller and have it fit as well as the mini turned sideways (landscape)?
