So far so good with a replacement controller... I didn't go far. Just set up and calibrated in my driveway and flew around my property a bit. So, hopefully you all helped find my solution! Thank you for all the input.
You are absolutely correct… I forgot that it did obey the forward command at that point for a little while. When I stopped where you see the end of the dotted line it went back to being stuck in the full backward position and that is where I had to fly it backwards the rest of the way home 👍...
I'm not sure what you mean. The stick was in a neutral position... no input at all when the drone took off.

I did calibrate the RC after the first fly away… it worked great for an entire battery worth of flying and then shortly after I put in the second battery, you can see what happened.
Yeah, unfortunately all of that “full reverse stick” was with the stick in neutral position and even when I pressed full forward, it kept flying backward.
I think you probably nailed it… I think something is happening within the rc where it is sending the signal of full backward when it’s in the neutral position. The period of full forward was me trying to get the drone to go forward but it was actually still flying backward 🤣 It never went back...
