First of all i dont recommend hand catch for safety reason, but i can tell you i do hand catch always since its so easy. my best way to do it is to approach myself with the mavic in gps mode and about 2 meters high i put my right hand under the mavic when it feels my hand via sensors it goes up...

+1 If i climb slowly up to 10 m after take off and fly afterward every landings are perfectly spot on within 2 cm in case i dont hand catch it like most of the time

I always set my phone to "do not disturb" mode so no unwanted calls or whatever but you got mobile data!
