Good video! Sad to see this project in ruins.
I wonder why, since the infrastructure is there, they don't put the new ones on this site. It would seem it would lower cost to just replace the towers/windmills. Maybe one of "those" government secrets.

It's a privately owned commercial project. No sinister government secrets.

@Evmoius, according to several references from a quick search the site wasn't shut down. The original turbines from 1985 were replaced with much larger, more efficient units and most (96%) of the old turbines were decommissioned. It appears that decommissioned means abandoned in place. Google maps has some interesting views of the area.

When you go out there, the closest modern turbines are about a mile from where most of these old ones are. It may be considered the same installation but the old and new are pretty far apart.
