I have seen a number of posts by brand new pilots recently, and ran across this FREE course entitled “Recreational Flying Made Easy” by Greg at Pilot Institute. He’s very informative and if you follow his advice, it will keep you out of trouble with the FAA (USA only). Be aware that we share airspace with all kinds of manned aircraft and you need to know what you can and cannot do to be a safe pilot. Best wishes and enjoy the sport.

I have found this info, too.
1. I have registered my Mini-2 (as it may weight more than 250g with protection);
2. I have passed the required Recreational Safety test (new requirement!) that is called TRUST. And I have the TRUST certificate that you should carry with your drone.
3. I have assigned the FAA registration number and ordered the labels (free).

Good start. Sounds like you’re trying to do things the right way. Make sure you learn the current FAA laws now, they’ve changed recently. Best wishes.
