I think is fine too, because when you turn the battery off I don't think there's any voltages being output, so the Mavic wouldn't even know it's there. In, maybe there is tension on the latch mechanism pins but that's getting really ****. The battery acts as kind of a dust cover, but that's getting **** to. I leave the battery in, mostly as a convenient battery storage place. And it covers the hole.
It would probably be safest for any eventuality to keep the batteries separate and in a place where if one should self-combust damage will be minimal.
I'd definitely consider that if you knew it would be stored out of sight for weeks or months e.g. if away on an extended trip.
