Brightness of Phone disappointing

Woohoo! - all going well! Almost up to photography/video practice and tripod mode!!! However, I have issues with my phone - Samsung S5 - hard to see video in bright outdoors; and it is supposed to be "excellent"!. Can anyone suggest if there is a brighter (luminescence/nits) phone around, or if an NVIDIA with HDMI & glasses/goggles would be a better option? Don't mind spending a couple of hundred $$ on either option, but if there is someone out there with real experience, I am all ears!!!
