Can you connect controller to TV in place of phone/tablet?

Can you connect the controller to a flatscreen TV in place of your phone/ipad? Can this be done via a USB to HDMI cable? If not, how?

I don't think it can be, for 1 there's no HDMI port

Apple tv. Mirror the iPad onto the Apple TV device connected to a tv.

Unless you can install an app to your TV then NO!
But you can always mirror your device display to a capable smart TV.

Yep I mirrored my phone to my chromecast. It does have some lag though so you don't want to use it for flying, but if you just want it as a monitor so others can watch and you just fly LOS then you are good to go.

As others have said, mirroring might be an option, but you cannot connect it directly to a TV. USB to HDMI can't be done like that without driver support and that doesn't exist for the controller.
