Does taking photos vs actively recording video effect battery life?

New to drones and just curious

Let's say in both flights you're doing the same location, same wind, same everything

In one flight you are doing active video recording for 20 minutes

In the other flight you are just flying around not recording video but taking pictures here and there

Does the picture run use less battery and stay up longer?

Good question, and I admit I had thought about this years ago when first starting out with my M1P.
I’ve never noticed any difference in flight times, but never tried to do any actual testing.

No. The camera is operating all the time, and it uses a minuscule amount of power compared to flying anyway.

i would imagine that over a 20 minute flight recording video ,compared to the same 20 minute flight just taking some pics ,the difference in the amount of remaining charge would hardly be noticeable in real world conditions ,temperature and weather conditions have the biggest part to play in actual flight time and battery life
