I'm a brand new drone user and Mavic owner. I'm trying to get a shot where I'm filming a building and then go up in altitude while the camera stays on the building. I keep going up in altitude and shooting past the building.

I'm going for something similar to the shot of the park in this video at 7 seconds.

I know I can use the dial on the remote, but that usually gives and abrupt/jerky adjustment down rather than the smooth pan.

Any tips? Thanks!

Use the dial, set it to lower sensitivity and train.

Supposing this post isn't just clickbait that is.

Thanks! Definitely not click bait. I would have tried to make it more interesting if it was clickbait.

So it is the dial I need to use for these types of shots, then? I didn't know if there was a flying technique. Also didn't know you could adjust the dial sensitivity. I will check that out.

There is also a Cinematic mode that fixes the camera on the object while the automatically flys up and back.

Pick a speed you think you want then go about 20% slower

Great question - I’ve been wondering the same thing!

So, to show how stupid I am, can I just power up the controller to make that gamble speed change or does the drone have to be powered up as well?
