Max Altitude slider on DJI Fly app goes to 1640ft(500m)?

I’ve set my max to 412 +\- a few times (because I can never stop the slider at 400’ exactly). But the drone stops at 393’ every time with notice I’ve hit my max altitude.

I took part in an online meeting with other pilots with Transport Canada as they entertained feedback on some new regs.
I specifically asked about flying above 400 feet to clear buildings, structures, terrain. The situation I was concerned about was some surveying I needed to accomplish at a windfarm and I needed around 550' to clear the turbines.
They said that was not a problem since it's within the regs to do exactly that to clear the machines - 100' maximum above the obstacle.
