Got Mavic Air 2 weeks ago. New to recreation drone piloting. Learning to take my Photography to new heights. Getting over nervousness when flying over our lake but love the photos and videos it takes. Great Drone so far. Watched tons of YouTube but will be nice to chat with real owners with a lot more knowledge then me to avoid major complications and hopefully learn photo and video tips.

From my experience, this takes a while

My best advice is to continue watching others, and take it slow. Don't be in a hurry to make amazing videos. Learn about Return to Home. Learn to trust it. Gain as much knowledge of your local area (or areas that you will fly) so you can set things such as altitude to set for RTH.

Just this week I have been playing with Waypoints and sending the drone off for 2 km, 10 minute flights, which then RTH's when complete. On one of those occasions I lost realtime video feedback when my drone went over a ridge, but sure enough, she came home when she had completed the route.
