Question to those who have their mavics

How close can you get to your subject(person) when filming. all the videos I have seen where they show off the follow me mode seem too far away if you want to get details of the subject. So how close can you get and is anyone willing to make a video?

I'd say as close as they will let you!
Seriously it's about safety, how close should you get to someone's face with 8 whirling little blades?

eta also depends on your proficiency flying the Mavic specifically. I still need practice I've only been flying on one battery for 2 days.

Well, actually it will not only depend on ones acceptance / tolerance for a quadcopter (Mavic Pro) with 8 whirling little blades that act as 4 large whirling blades , but also obstacle avoidance.

If Obstacle Avoidance is turned on then the Mavic cannot get too close to a person if flying directly at the person with the front of the Mavic and its 2 forward obstacle sensing cameras.

Turn off obstacle avoidance and someone may get a new hairstyle
