... I miss huge cumulus clouds. I imagine they are up there now behind the falling snow!

I hope there's still snow in the morning on the ground and trees but not falling so I can get some shots.

The towering cumulus clouds and the weather they brought is about all I miss about the midwest. The weather out here is boring in comparison...except today. Be careful flying in this wind!

I have done this sort of thing, it is a huge pain in the *** in the long run. In short, I picked a point on the ground that was not likely to change in the time frame. Fly straight up a specified distance and point at a landmark that will not change. Remember, it that much time you may be using a different drone in the end or along the way. Firmware changes and features change over time as well.
