Settings for flying in woods.

Hi

I want to fly in woods to film some footage for a music video. I've already had a disastrous flight today where my controller disconnected despite 12 satellites and the drone wouldn't respond to down commands and stupidly I hadn't disabled RTH which meant it rose up into the foliage and ......

So lesson learned.

So far I believe the essentials are

Prop guards(Saved my drone today although not the props).
Setting to Hover if connection lost.
Tripod Mode.

I'm even willing to tie a piece of string to the landing gear and the other end tethered to me so it cannot go more than 15ft away from me.


Anyway. Anyone else have advice on filming in woods.

Do you have to fly for 15 feet? Take an 8 foot ladder, and climb it with the mavic and film without flying.
