Uk commercial license

Hey guys, looking at making some £££ with this little beauty and there's a lot of conflicting information about license cost / levels / type of training you need. Has anyone in the uk got a commercial license that can give a bit of guidance?

You will need to go on a course to obtain your PfCO -(Permission for Commercial Operation)- from the CAA. There are numerous operators in the UK running courses, and the cost will be in the £1000 to £1500 bracket.

Google "Courses for PfCO" and you'll find lots of operators, and more details of what's involved.

Hi Thaladore, did you get any further clarification on this or even go through with it? I'm potentially looking at this as an option.

There was a comment on a thread a few weeks ago (no idea which one) that 'suggested' there was a cheaper way of doing this. No idea whether it is true but the inference was that there is a 'self study' way of doing it rather than paying a course provider.

I may have read this all wrong so apologise if this is the case, but may just be worth asking the question.

Also appreciate that even if there is a cheaper way a course may be money well spent for some and the best way to go.
