Police respond to suggestions their drone caused Leicester helicopter crash

However, officers from Leicestershire Police, said their drone was not in operation when Mr Srivaddhanaprabha's helicopter took off from the pitch after the Foxes 1-1 draw with West Ham .
They responded to the speculation after the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said they had recovered the black box recorder as part of their probe into the crash.

It's extremely unlikely that their drone did cause an accident because there are no drones available that can withstand the downdraft and live to scan the area afterwards.
Drone phobia doesn't need any of us to fan imaginary embers!

Downdraft isnt severe enough to stop an impact if the helicopter is moving forward at any real speed. And if it clipped the tail theres none at all.
This isn't what happened but there are no physical reasons why a drone cant hit a helicopter.

You might also mention that it's possible for lightning to strike twice in the same place. Both scenarios are probably equally likely!
